Trusting God To Do It – Romans 4:4-5

“If you’re a hard worker and do a good job, you deserve your pay; we don’t call your wages a gift. But if you see that the job is too big for you, that it’s something only God can do, and you trust him to do it—you could never do it for yourself no matter how hard and long you worked—well, that trusting-him-to-do-it is what gets you set right with God, by God. Sheer gift.” Romans 5:4-5

There are some things that are simply bigger than we are….like offering salvation to sinners that do not deserve it. Well God is into big things and people who can become big. No, our Father does not need us to act big but he needs us to trust Him to do the heavy lifting. Our faith is what makes us right with God. Our faith is the very reason that we are saved. Our faith, itself, is a gift. Why are we wasting our gift of faith by entertaining doubt and fear or apathy? Faithlessness makes us uneasy and unstable, but faith sets us right. Where are you today? Do you feel lost? Are you drifting or wandering? Then guess what? Bring your faith to the table of the Lord and feel the security of being set on solid ground.
