Try Making God A Priority – Hey You Never Know – Isaiah 55:8-9

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

God is looking for us to acknowledge both His righteousness and sovereignty in our lives. God spoke through the prophet Isaiah to encourage Israel to return to Him and be saved. In order to do so, they would need to begin to exalt God’s way of doing things and God’s way of thinking above their own. We often get into trouble because we think we know better when in actuality, we know very little. The most brilliant scholars of our time could add all of their combined knowledge together and they would know very little about the human and the earth compared to their Creator. Rather than run to God to rescue us from trouble we ought to efficiently make choices that reflect the righteousness and sovereignty of Jehovah. The Christian lifestyle is about conforming ourselves to the image and likeness of Christ. Christ, who in all things, pleased the Father. By abiding in Christ and putting on Christ, we begin to access the higher, holy and righteous mind of God revealed to us by His Holy Spirit. We also begin to conduct ourselves volitionally, as Christ did, so that the Father can be revealed through us in our every day deeds. Today, I seek the thoughts of the Lord and I desire to know His ways.
