Oh How He Forgives – Psalm 99:1

“LORD our God, you answered them. You showed them that you are a forgiving God, but you punished them for their wrongs.” Psalm 99:1 NCV

Our hearts need not ponder if we are forgiven for transgressions that our repentance have covered. To Moses, Aaron and Samuel God offered more love and forgiveness when they asked, yet they still had to endure the lashing our loving Father provides all His children to correct irreverrent behavior. The comfort we have is knowing, that, although we must deal with the consequences of our sin, our Father will not cast us away over a few mistakes. He promises to always answer us, so let us cry unto Him and let Daddy hear our heart thoughts. Perhaps knowing that He will answer us should be the focus of any request rather than His actual answer. His response declares an unending bond between created and Creator. Father and child. Father’s only goal is to bring us into His will. Why fight the will of our Lord? Turn away from transgression now. Let go of wickedness and deceit. Fall to His feet and be forgiven. Then stand up and face the consequences of sin, in faith, knowing it will last only for a moment since the Lord our God will answer us everytime.
