Don’t Rush God, You Might Regret It! 2 Peter 3:9

“The Lord is not slow in doing what he promised—the way some people understand slowness…..” 2 Peter 3:9 NCV

Has it ever dawned on you that God is working things out or allowing things to be worked out “in you” and “for you” according to His own divine plan? So why the hurry? Why the rush to have things resolved so quickly on your behalf? Perhaps if things happened quickly, there would not be much profit for you in such a scenario. If the Lord granted instant prosperity to resolve your financial woes, could He find you in worship at a local church each Sunday morning? If not why? Can you not be entrusted with the riches of the world? If the Lord were to miraculously heal the infirmity that besets you, could He count on your testimony to acknowledge Him as the healer and surgeon? If not, why? If you are ashamed of the Lord before men, He will be ashamed of you in heaven. Has it ever dawned on you that God’s timing is not your timing? That, His ways are not your ways? That one thousand years to you is only as one day to Him? That from His standpoint, things may be moving too fast (in less than a day) and from yours things are moving to slow (it takes years before some deliverances)? Has it ever dawned on you that He is omnipotent and omniscient? That He is perfect? That He knew you before you were formed in your mother’s belly? That He has given you an expected it end of peace and not troubles? That He loves you? That He would never leave you nor forsake you? That He sent the Holy Spirit to comfort you in your weakness? That Jesus is your mediator? That it’s going to be okay after while? Be patient, children of the Almighty God, it is to your benefit that the Lord gives you time to make things well.
